This is the second time in a year that an apartment that we are renting is being converted into a condo.

Our current apt, which is 784 sq ft, one bedroom, second floor (of three), w/ lani (patio for you non-Floridans) is going for $202k. :o

I think I'll pass.

*KERBLINK*

My Gods they are doing that with everything now a days..Poor chimpie, and yeah, I would pass too.

Come back to Indy my man, we have real houses for $100k with no one to bother you- you can jam the music, I am truly afraid to turn my receiver up past -10. My house was 106k and it is about 1500 sqft in the middle of fields, no neighbors, ok 1 neighbor, but I dont like him and we mabye speak once a year.

Well the sad thing is that last year we had a two bedroom/two bath, three story apt with a garage and a huge lani going for the same price. Only reason we passed was because we were moving out of state at the time.

Indiana is a possibility. Just hate to move in the middle of the winter. Our lease ends at the end of January and my girl and I are going seperate ways.

Car accident season, keeps the blood pumping! Bunkers keep you warm.

I know what you are goin through

I wanted to buy my parents place 100k 3br 2bath middle of the country 3 acres of land.....did I mention the whirlpool tub? but im moving in 3mths so its pointless

Ha, I paid $210 for a 1 bedroom 1st floor 950 sq foot co-op on Long Island. Around here that's a deal (I put about $10k of work, appliances, and furniture into it).

My 2.5 stry 3900 sq. ft. home 3 bedrooms, den, living room, kitchen, 2.5 bath, improved cellar, family room, and utility/mud room; w/ a barn, three car garage, sun kitchen, pool and wrap around porch was only $78,000.00. It's an "in town home" on 11.5 acres. It was brown metal siding and brick exterior, new windows, new carpet, wiring and pipes.. Still cost less than $90,000.00.

That's just how real estate works in this lil rural chunk of the world. Of course after 9/11 when people started to file into the "North Country" of PA, my home was acessed at $180K. In case I ever want to sell it, that's a pat on the back. But a kick in the nutz on taxes.

Chimpie, sorry to hear about you & your girl :(

Naples is doing the same thing, we're in an 1108sqft, 2+Den, 2bath apt. We pay $810/mo and they're trying to sell it for $279k. The cheapest one here is $169, 1 bed with a view of the parking lot and maintnance shed (my mother lives in that one). We all have to be out at the end of our leases but they are not selling, the apt's are WAY over priced and the location sucks. I don't know what the hell they're thinking, but they will definitely be sorry.

And 4 other condo conversions have been announced this last month. We're just going to have bite the bullet and pay out the butt for a regular house rental with a private landlord.

... with a view of the parking lot and maintnance shed ...
ROFL. That's our view too. But it's okay. The shed is more like a nice two car garage.
