Good morning, I am in a bit of a dilemma. I have an opportunity to work for a busy 911 service. I am also in the middle of medic school. Now if I were to take the job, I would have to drop out of medic school, attend the depts training academy, and then re-enroll and redo the medic program. I would love to take the job, but as much as I like medic school, its not an experience I want to go through twice.
Any opinions on this?

Depends how difficult it is to get hired by this department. If you're looking to be there for a while and it's difficult to find a job there, I'd consider taking the job. Obviously nobody wants to redo Paramedic School, but if the new job is willing to pay for you to go in a couple years I'd certainly look into it. I don't know if this is a fire department or not, but if it is, opportunities don't necessarily come around too often.

This.

It all depends on how much you want the job, whether it's a long-term career type job or if it's "just" another job.

I would put off medic school for a good enough job to have, because the right department will support you really well in school.

I was in the same position and I was gun ho for that 911 spot even before medic school and I was slightly more than half way done. The work I put into and rotations completed and having identified the correct people to shadow and learn from was not worth dropping out at that point.

The best part is that medic school offered me a perspective of what is out there medicine wise and I realized there is much more than coveted 911 position. I am glad I did not drop from the program.

The biggest question is, do you want to drive the bus, or work in the back???
There is also usually a pretty big pay difference between the bus driver and the guy in back.
Personally, I'd finish medic school if you are already at the halfway point.

Like everyone else has said, what do you want more. Also talk to the department and tell them your problem if you think they wil help you. But like someone else has said if you get on the department they will probably help you later get in to paramedic school, that's something you might want to ask them about. It's a hard decision but either way you go you can't really go wrong. If you want to be a medic for awhile with this department I would take the job, but if You want to get your medic and go where ever to work, stick with medic school. It all depends on your future goals, best of luck with your decision.
