I know of several people who have <1 than one year of experience working for a 911 company (as told to me by employees of that company.)
I know on applications for several companies they ask you if you have one year of exp.

How do these people get the job? Did they lie on their app? Do they sweet talk the recruiter? Have hook ups?

Anyone else have been in a similar position? Got a job when a document states that you're not qualified?

My current and last job, I did not meet the "experience" requirements but still got the job. While experience can be good it is not the end all be all. They liked my resume and I interview well.

Don't let the experience requirement keep your from applying. Your references can also hold a lot of weight depending on the company and situation.

my first job ever was a pretty cool 911 gig. but i guess most amb companie around here are involved in 911 and hire without experience

My first job was a 911 truck.

I think its more of a weed out the applications if your interview and resume look well I am sure they will allow you in the door waiving the experience requirements.
