Ohio Man Assaults EMS Crew and Deputy
SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP — A Lorain County sheriff's deputy was brought to Community Allen Medical Center on Wednesday night after a man he was trying to arrest punched him on the side of the face.
Edwin Cedre, 19, also tried to bite an ambulance worker and was Tasered three times during the scuffle inside an ambulance parked on Vincent Avenue, according to a sheriff's report.
Cedre was being treated inside a Sheffield Township rescue ambulance when deputies arrived at the scene around 5 p.m. Cedre told them he tried to kill himself by swallowing a bowl of cough medicine.
