NYS AEMT-I discontinued at end of 2012?

I was just informed today by my manager that she was told that New York State was going to discontinue the AEMT-I Level at the end of the year. I have heard these rumors for years but there never was any push on it. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this rumor?

I don't know but EMT-Is are not used much around the Northern burbs of NYC. It won't be missed. Should just get the medic class done.
