Hi!
I'm a basic EMT from Upstate NY, and I was looking to work in Orlando, FL.
I have my FEMA 100,200,700 and I'm SCOTT mask certified for fire fighting gear (if that's worth anything).
I know I have to take the FL state test, but is that much different than the NY test?
Does anyone have an references I can look at to study up on?
Also, I was told the NREMT means nothing in FL because you still need a FL test under your belt as well as a FL license.

Call Fl health department. I beleive for the emt-b you dont need to take the test because... The test is NREMT based.. I could be wrong.. When we took are emt test we had to sign up on the NREMT site and then show the state are NREMT info before we could take the test. Once you pass the test you get both your nremt and FL EMT. Best thing to do is call though...

Florida does not recognize the NREMT or NREMT-P. You will have to challenge the state test. As far as your FF (if you have it) you have to check with the State Fire College in Ocala, FL as far as who they recongnize. The Department of Health website should give you all the info you need for setting up the test. Hope this helps.

Florida DOES recognize your NREMT-B, but not your NREMT-P.
The basic test for fl is the national, there's no state test.

Since you're a basic you should be able to transfer your nremt b without a problem.

There was another thread about this not too long ago but I'm on my phone so I'll try and find it later.

I apologize for the wrong information. I knew they didn't recognize the NREMT-P and just assumed it was the same way for the NREMT-B.
