Just chill, is my biggest suggestion for people taking any test, be it NREMT or Chemistry. Personally I suggest avoiding notes within an hour from the exam, as it will act like a brick in your mind, and you'll insist of answering every question with PE or something that you just read. Looking at notes on the day-of doesn't hurt, just not the hour-of.
That said, when reviewing, be sure to review what needs reviewing. If you are going through the Legal chapter and going "Yeah, yeah, I know this" then stop wasting your time and get to a chapter that you aren't 100% on. I wouldn't recommend practice quizzes/tests the day of, as those take time to turn into effective study tools. However, studying previous tests/quizzes for material that you didn't know will only help.
Keys are don't waste your time, and just relax. Before big tests at school I just get there 15 minutes early and sit in the hallway, even reading this forum. Just chilling. If I don't know it then I sure won't learn it in that time, without throwing off the rest of my mind. Just... chill.
