I know I don't need NREMT for NYC, just the state and REMAC. But are there any advantages for getting it? Will it look good on my resume and are employers more likely to hire me based on national certification? No substitute for experience of course but any edge I can have I will use.

Thanks guys

If you ever plan to or think that you may someday leave NY, then NREMT is a good idea. It won't give you a leg up on any competition as it is the minimum to get licensed most everywhere, but keeping the door open for career moves later on won't ever be a bad idea.

I agree, especially when the info is still fresh in my mind when I'm preparing for the state exam.
