I passed my state EMT practicals and written exam May 2012. I had originally registered for NREMT in July 2012. Things were happening in my life with my children, mother, etc. and I forgot about my application.

I completed the application and registered for the NREMT test in June 2013 and took (and passed) the written NREMT test.

NR is now saying that I am not certified because my practicals are no good since they are a year old so I have to redo them.

Anyone else had this happen?? Trying to find a place to do the testing is becoming an issue because the county that I volunteer in only really does the testing as classes are finishing up.

Try different counties, colleges, programs etc. They may have some hybrids coming due

Thanks Mariemt

Just as an addendum to my original posting:

It's taken almost 4 weeks to get a straight answer out of NREMT. I've spoken to EMS directors in three counties and sent a letter to NREMT. NREMT kept stating my skills were out of date. One of the directors called and spoke to someone at NREMT yesterday and it isn't that my skills are out of date, it's because when I took my state exam we weren't using NREMT skills. I had 4 stations- medical, trauma, CPR and choking. So I need to retest for the 7 skill stations.

I'm panicked because I didn't learn most of this stuff for practicals because my class didn't need to. I did book learn but not hands on. We practiced with a KED one time, I don't even think we carry them on the ambulances that I run on.
