hey guys, I am sure our boards will be cluttered with plea's for help during the next 2 weeks. However I have a unique situation and I tried to contact the NREMT( I am overseas) by email with no luck. I called on skype and was on hold forever so I gave up.

I was affiliated with an ALS EMS agency most of 2011 and some of 2012. I am still affiliated with them on my NREMT profile. I stopped working to go to school fulltime and take on a higher credit load. However I will be(reapplying) to return to work later this year with the same agency. My old training/education officer offered to let me stay on for agency affiliation and since we already had him and M.D. verify my skills check off from last year, he would submit my re certification form and I would continue to claim the agency affiliation. All my CME's are completed and he has them all on record.

The Issue: I am not working and have not worked for 9 months. I will not go back for a few months and there is always the hypothetical possibility anything could happen and i end up with another agency or am not rehired for whatever reason. Majority of my 2 year certification cycle I was working and affiliated and I swore I read somewhere on the NREMT website "potential or future EMS agency" can be used as agency affiliation?

Advise, Suggestions? I would prefer not to claim "In acvite" status unless absolutely unnecessary but I do not want to get audited and have done the wrong thing.

I was told as long as you have 6 months working at any time you are good.

Ya I read about the 6 month rule for going to "inactive status" but not for still claiming "active"
