Right now, the AHA is discussing no-breath CPR (just compressions, no 30:2 ratio in patients with witnessed cardiac arrest and collapse). What are your views on this?

Is this recommendation just for lay providers?

Yes, for layperson responders only.

As is typical with AHA reports in the media, the cart is being put before the horse. The standard has caveats for witnessed arrest, children, drownings etc that never make it into the media because reporters have a blindness to page two or fine print.
