New York EMT credentials

Hey guys,

It looks like my wife and I are going to be moving to New York right after I get done with my EMT-B class.

Are there things on state tests that I would need to study up on beyond that which the National one covers?

Also, are these certification tests held often, or is it quarterly or something?

Sorry if I come off as ignorant, I totally am. I'm starting class in January!

NYS is not a National Registry state however they do test to the NR level.

health.ny.gov/nysdoh/ems/certification/reciprocity.htm

Employment is another issue however.....
