Hello to everyone here. Not an EMT yet, I joined a local vol. squad about 2 months ago, got my CPR, and EMT-B class is coming in may-jul. I can't wait! I am on 2 nights a week and lovin' it. It was way intimidating to start with no qualifications but I wish I had found it years ago!
I joined at first because I am thinking seriously about a career change from hardwood floor installing to nursing and I figured this would be a good way to get my feet wet and see if I could handle what I was gonna see and need to do. Although we haven't gone on any full arrest calls yet, I've had a good share of vomit and blood so far. The people I work with are just kinda throwing me into it which is great for me! I learn much better that way. I have been reading some of the funny stories and other posts on here and can't wait to get into some of the things you all have done. Hopefully I'll have something to contribute to the board! In the meantime I'll be in the background learning. Lovin' it so far!
