I received my EMT certification in May of '08 and have been volunteering usually twice a week with the fire departments crisis response team. It is more of a behavorial health position then an EMT position but it allows me to interact and deal with fire and police to see how everything operates.
I wanted a position that will let me utilize my skills and teach me new ones so I started looking around. I asked friends and coworkers about PMT, Southwest and Life Line. After hearing everything I went and applied to Life Line out of Prescott to work in their Wickenburg location. Well today I had my personality test, BLS test, Oral interview and physical agility test. As long as my drug test and background check comes back good ( they will )
I AM HIRED!!! I look forward to working in the field I received training in and plan on learning all I can and hopefully attend paramedic school next August.
For those who don't know the area Wickenburd is kind of a middle city between Phoenix, AZ and freeways that connect it to Las Vegas and Los Angeles. It can be a lot of MVA trauma and remote town issues, like transporting a patient 30 minutes to the closest ER.
