Hi Everyone,

I start EMT - B class in a week and want to know what steps I should take to become a flight medic?

a University by me offers an EMT- Paramedic program after I complete my EMT but it is 4,800 for the whole program. Is that too much?

I plan on working as an EMT while going to a paramedic program that way I can stay current on my skills along with getting advise from my fellow medics.

any thing will help.

Thanks!

$4800 isn't out of line for a Paramedic program. The prices are similar in the Indianapolis area.

My medic school cost like 10k....4800 isn't bad at all.

Flight medic is a long road.

Get your medic ASAP and take every accessory class/cert you can. Expect to be a medic for 10+ years before you get a job.

One of my basic instructors was an emergency flight nurse, this sounds about right. Especially the part about needing tons of skills certs.
