AMR Arlington is run separately from AMR Dallas. Two different divisions. Good luck getting on with Arlington, they have a wait list a mile long from Dallas EMTs and Paramedics trying to get on.
AMR Dallas is IFT. Doing the IFT trucks in Dallas, if you're on an ALS truck with a Paramedic, you MIGHT get sent up to Collin county to post for 911 if the Collin County trucks are all on calls. In my 9 months in Dallas, I did 3 911 calls in Collin County. If you're on an EMT/EMT or EMT/Intermediate truck, you will NOT be sent up there to do 911.
You will NOT run 911 in Dallas unless there's an MCI going on. You will run to the county jail or nursing homes for calls that SHOULD be 911, but again, those are typically reserved for Paramedic trucks... unless dispatch is an idiot and send an ALS truck on a BLS transfer, and an ILS truck on a symptomatic hypertension call..... yup... they did that.
AMR Dallas does have the speed GPS installed in the trucks where if you go over the speedlimit, the on-duty supervisor gets a page... who in turn sends you a page. Depending on which supervisor is on duty you might get a "Slow down" or a "Holy cow you guys got there fast *wink wink*". Or they might call you out over the radio. It doesn't care about g-forces, just speed.
MedStar and AMR Arlington, however, have the growler, which DOES register G-forces. Take a turn too fast and it will let you know in an annoying tone. You wrack up points by doing that, and at a certain point level in a month you get in trouble.
