Hey EMTLife,
Im a newfriend from the Bay area, I've finally got all my paperwork in order and now im getting a good response from several local ambulance companies. I have a few questions and after about a week I'll be willing to divulge lots of info on my experience with the process, hopefully as a successful new hire.
I had a suspension on my license over 5 years ago, it was for a stoplight ticket that I attempted to contest but wasn't submitted until after my day in court. The company only asked for a 5yr printout but the DMV only offered 3- and 10yrs. How much may that hurt my chances?
Interview went well though I stumbled through a few "situational-type questions," they were to describe my response to disagreements, successes, and unexpected situations. It all seemed redundant and made me feel arrogant talking about myself.
I have another interview lined up this week -- I must have applied at the perfect time. What would you tell me to focus on next time, and general advice on behavior in the interview such as questions to ask and stances to take on working with partners and managers? Also how important is volunteer experience for a newly certified EMT?
Thanks brother and sisters,
EMTom
