Neurosurgery

I've heard of it being used relatively quickly in cases where the patient was extremely despondent or suicidal, but I'd still consider that a last resort. Haven't heard of it being approved based on a patient's request, though, unless the patient would otherwise qualify. Would you be willing to elaborate on those cases?

And yeah, sure hope it doesn't look like the movies...

We offer vacation packages here in Florida to have ECT.

Jackson Memorial: offers both inpatient and outpatient

This is the Cleveland Clinic which has a couple of hospitals in Florida now. They of course give all the disclaimers just like bariatric or Lasik surgery. But, if you neighbor had it done and it worked wonders, I'm sure you can get referral.

We also have the famous Coral Ridge Psychiatric Hospital which is now Atlantic Shores. It catered to many famous clients over the years.

That's interesting. I'll need to ask around a bit more to see if I've just gotten the wrong impression or they're actually doing things differently here. Thanks!

We depend on our tourists for whatever reasons. The other biggie is cardiac surgery. I believe we offer a golfing package with that. Of course there is plastic surgery which offers a full resort deal. For just a little extra, ECT can be tossed in.

Makes sense for Florida, I guess. I can intellectually see why medical tourism is appealing, but I don't think I'll ever really get it... getting work done scares me, whether a spa's included or not.

For anyone who's interested in ECT: came across this blog post this morning. Has some interesting links and debate in comments.

(Btw, the site's generally reputable, but watch for the credentials of the people who post... some people who write are just patients, not practitioners of any sort.)
