Howdy brothers and sisters. I have been an EMT for over 11 years and have worked for a county service in TN for 6 years.

I got hurt on the job lifting a patient in 2005 and had a career ending spinal fusion surgery in '06 and am now recovering from a second related back surgery.

I haven't worked as an active emt for 5 years now, so I am completely out of the loop and out of touch.

Getting ceu's while actively working in the profession was simple. Now, it is not so easy.

I have to pay my relicensure fee in November to keep my emt license. I need 2 .0 ceu's.

Even though my career as an EMT is done, I still want to keep my license active as a matter of pride and to aid in future job seeking (having an EMT on the payroll can be a boon to any business).

What would be my fastest and cheapest way to get my 2.0 ceu's? I am off work now recovering from the second surgery, so I have tons of time to get my Ceu's online.

Can you guys suggest some sites and/or courses? I remember the old ICS was one of my bread and butter courses for quick credit hours. Now I can't even find a site where I can get even that one!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Some web based CE providers offer a free hour or two just for checking them out.

I use, http://www.emcert.com/

For California, it is all I need, YMMV.

I use a couple different sites, but they're either a CECBEMS site or they're accredited as a CEU provider in a county here in California. At times, I've even used my college coursework. For those, I get 15 CEU per 1 Semester Unit.

Check with your issuing agency and see what they'll accept!
