Need Help on getting EMT card

I just passed my EMT-B test and i live in the state of Texas. I do not know what to do after this... Where would I go to register my self to get my EMT card and pay the fee for it? Please help, I will be very appreciated...

If you pass the certification process, it should come in the mail, unless I am mistaken...
 
Google Texas Department of Health. Click license and certification. Scroll down to EMS. Follow instructions.
 
You send money to the TDSHS, then wait 2-6 weeks while they get off their butts, get the info from the NREMT, and send you your card.


Took me 2 weeks, but most people I know took 4+ weeks.

took me a week to get my pharmacy card when I was in Dallas
 
I'm going to go off on a limb and say it's a totally different process that doesn't mean dealing with the NREMT, and waiting for them to send info? ^_^

As soon as the the NR posts you as passed and gives you an NR number if you copy that information and fax it to the state it speeds the process up drastically. Surprised your schools are not teaching this.
 
Meh, mine was fast enough anyhow, and I wasn't really even in a hurry to get it.



Though I'll keep that in mind come March when I get my medic.


You know... so I can head out your way just that much sooner ;)

wow i called the school and they said it will be $240 dollars to re do my skills. just wow!

No i did not fail, Its been a 1yr and a half since i been out of school, and i just took my National Regristry and passed just last week. I failed it on the first try. I got so out of it and put it off for this long, now i have to redo my skills because the skills only last up to a year. If you pass the National regristry and work it keeps your skill active, i think thats how it works
