Howdy there! I'm currently licensed as an AEMT in the state of GA,but I want to reinstate my National Registry certification.I plan on moving out of GA this year so I'm planning accordingly.I don't currently work in EMS (but plan on jumping back in for a few months). It's about to be 2 years in April since it lapsed.I am honestly clueless when it comes to any of this.I'm looking through numerous resources and any you can offer help in to accomplish the following goals,I will deeply appreciate and use to help the next person too.

Goals:
Reinstate National Registry AEMT Cert
Obtain PALS Cert
Obtain CPR Instructor Cert.

I'm looking for any info you may have about (priced reasonably) GA state-approved AEMT refresher courses ,PALS courses,CPR instr. Courses, and anything you may think will be helpful!Thank you!

Lapsed 0-24 Months
If the AEMT did not meet all recertification requirements by the expiration date, the National EMS certification is considered to be lapsed. If the certification lapsed less than two years, or you are currently state licensed as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), you can regain National EMS Certification by completing the cognitive and psychomotor examinations.

To obtain authorization to test, lapsed AEMTs must demonstrate proof of education requirements. The following methods are acceptable:

  • Complete a Traditional State Approved AEMT Refresher
  • State approved continuing education equal to the AEMT Refresher
  • If the AEMT was licensed in a NCCP state, completion of the National Component meets the requirement
Lapsed More Than 2 Years
If your EMS certification expired more than two years ago, you must complete an entire state-approved Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) course, and complete the cognitive and psychomotor examinations.

Now, if you still have a valid state card, it doesn't matter if you have a lapsed registry of 2+ years, all you need is the refresher time and testing.
