Who here has read the Major Complications of Airway Management in the UK National Audit Project 4, and has it changed your approach to airway management?

Still working through it here, but it has caused me to put much greater emphasis on awake techniques (topicals and NTI) than before.

Yep, very interesting read, it's what I was I referring in the "combitube?" thread below.

The stuff on needle cric is very interesting given the prevalence of needle kits in the prehospital setting.

Awake techniques are not something we currently have in our scope, but hopefully this can open a dialogue with the powers that be. I've been trying to get ketamine for a while too, I think it has a potentially very valuable role to play in many intubation scenarios.
