I was just curious, how many of you multifunction? I know there are a lot of FF/EMTs out there, but what about other things? i.e. I work as an EMT-B, an ER tech, and (hopefully) soon to be volunteer EMT. Any thoughts?

As soon as my card comes, Imma be a Paid EMT along with a Volunteer one and a SAR Agency EMT.

I am a full-time FF/EMT
Work part time on a BLS interfacility rig
Work part-time on an ALS interfacility/back-up 911 rig staffed 100% by off duty FF's.
And also a medic student

I am a full time office manager for civil engineering firm that's my day job.

I also teach a variety of First Aid/CPR/Wilderness First Aid courses and do the OTEPS for the EMT-B's of two agencies.

I'm the medical training officer for both the local volly fire department and the County SAR unit. I am a FF-1 and respond on fire and EMS calls. Basically, two - three nights a week I spend teaching someone, something. I serve on the local EMS council and that's a meeting once a month.

Since my hubby is a career ff/paramedic, I have those nights when he's on shift home alone and that's generally when I do my class planning, budget stuff and other admin tasks.

I've always been a kind of workaholic and I don't like to be bored. I have yet to deal with one obligation interfering with another. My bosses at the day job are very understanding about calls possibly making me late to work or having to come in at noon because I was on an MVA until 3am. Also, having an on-call medic to bounce things off of helps tremendously.
