Allina Health Emergency Medical Services is a leader and innovator in pre-hospital emergency medical services and is devoted to providing skilled and compassionate advanced life support, basic life support and scheduled transport in more than 100 Minnesota communities. Nearly 600 paramedics, emergency medical technicians and dispatchers work together to provide service to an area of approximately 1,000 square miles, reaching more than 1 million people annually.

  • To provide Advanced Life Support care to the sick and injured, and provide safe transport to a medical facility
Education
Associates Degree or higher required within two weeks prior to start date

Qualification/Skills
Skills

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent documentation (writing) skills
Licensure/Certifications

  • Current MN State EMT-P certification or National Registry (with the expectation of receiving MN State EMT-P certification by date of interview
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current ACLS & PALS
  • Valid driver’s license & driving record meeting Allina's driving policy requirements
Work Schedule
The first 2 weeks of this position will consist of New Employee Orientation from 7:30 to 4pm and classroom time that is between the hours of 8am – 4pm Monday thru Friday and begins on February 27th. This is mandatory attendance without exception.
After the mandatory academy concludes you will be placed with a Field Training Officer (FTO) and follow their schedule for estimated 6 weeks, which could be a day, evening, or night shift. You must be available for all schedules.

After training is complete, it will be necessary for you to float your hours until a time that you are able to bid a regular schedule. (This may take up to two years)

Our shifts begin as early as 3:30am and as late as 11pm, with report to work location varying from 5 different locations throughout the metro and its out lying areas.
