Hello everybody.

I have a question, I had an chest x-ray done to test for PPD, it came out negative but I found out I have mild Scoliosis of the Lumbar spine. It is mild, I was able to join the military (since it was under a certain degree) and I am able to play sports, work out, lift weights and I have no back problems.

Would this be a problem in getting hired by FDNY for example who does chest x-rays and other companies who do pre-employment physicals?

Thank you.

if you have scoliosis with an angle of less than 40 degrees and can safely perform the essential job tasks without posting a significant safety and health risk to yourself, other members, or civilians, you qualify according to the NFPA 1582 (medical eval standard).

It is around 15 degrees.
That's good news, thanks a lot

mild scoliosis is pretty common. maybe talk to a physical therapist about what you can do to strengthen the weaker muscles that are causing the slight curvature. not a big deal, but it could prevent future problems.

Your right. I was recommended a few back exercises at a gym.
