My question may sound dumb but I'm kind of nervous in regards to getting mixed up with giving CPR and giving Epi at the right time in a megacode scenario. When you have a cardiac arrest patient in a megacode scenario, you have do 2 minute of CPR and give Epi (1:10) every 3 minutes. My biggest concern is how you don't confuse yourself when to give Epi? Does anybody have any tricks that I could use to not get confused. We just started with megacodes and I want to be good at them.

Give it at 4 minute intervals. If it's an asystole/PEA code it's pretty straight forward.

Get a digital watch with a stopwatch and lap time feature. I recently got one and I use it constantly for things like this. People who say you should buy an analog to take vitals are crazy - having a stopwatch is, IMO, a lot more useful than whatever benefit an analog watch has.

During megacode it wasn't hard for us to remember when to give a medication. 1 round of CPR = around 2 minutes. So after every pulse monitor check about 2 minutes has passed.

For us it was Epi every other round.
