I think this is the best place to post this question: I saw on a patient chart "Rt Foot +3 edema". What is the +3? How does that translate? Thanks!

There is a grading scale for edema, pass as to what it is sorry mate

1+ Mild pitting, slight indentation, no perceptable swelling of the leg
2+ Moderate pitting, indentation subsides rapidly
3+ Deep pitting, indentation remains for a short time, leg looks swollen
4+ Very deep pitting, indentation lasts a long time, leg is very swollen
