Any MA EMT's out there that can attest to how difficult or easy it is to find your first time job? I have one interview this week but other than that no one has called me back yet. It is the middle of summer and I know in general hiring slows down in the summer in just about every industry. I know what to expect in the interview but I am a bit nervous since I have no experience.

Background on me by the way, I am 26, already have a bachelor's degree, been promoted in my current job, no criminal history, driving record clean in the past 4 years, willing to work full time.

Location dependent! Where in MA are you located? I can speak pretty well on the western ma side of things, I know there's a few people on here that work out towards the Boston area/eastern MA.

As of a few months ago, AMR Springfield wasn't actively recruiting. After losing Holyoke contract, all the Holyoke staff came to Springfield, so there was a LOT less overtime available/actual extra shifts not filled. Alert (was) pretty much always looking for medics, but not sure how often they're hiring EMTs right now.
I'll ask my buddy about Action ambulance, who came in and took over Holyoke, but I have very little experience with them personally.
Unfortunately, you're at a bad time too, most of the time they're heavy on the hiring may/june. I would expect you'll find something eventually. At least in Springfield ma, the turnover for EMTs is pretty high between all the agencies.

Yeah it's too bad I didn't finish everything up until the end of May. Interview I have is out towards central mass so I may be commuting for a bit if things work out.

They'll most likely start hiring again in September/early October. That seems to be the trend.
