Can you just give a general idea of what was on the paramedic test? or give details of what was on it? I can probably get a base view of the EMT if you wouldn't mind giving a base view of what was on the paramedic test because of cert levels etc...I actually recently tested with them. I took the paramedic exam. I honestly don't know what is on the EMT exam, but what I do know is that one of the emt's in my testing group failed the exam. It's a 50 question test, and you can miss 18 questions max.
The physical agility testing is simple. They'll email you the specifics of it at some point before you take it. But I'll explain about it anyways.
There are 3 portions.
The first one involves picking up an 80 lb hose bundle and carrying it through cones that are spaced 5 feet apart in a zig-zag pattern 100 feet, then turn around and then repeat it to the beginning. Essentially zig-zagging 200 feet. You have 110 seconds to complete that test.
The second one is even easier. There's an old crown vic with its windows rolled down. Climb into the car through the open window. Simple as that. They don't care how you enter the car, just as long as you can do it. It's a pass/fail test.
The final test sounds intimidating, but it's easy. Climb into the cab of an ambulance, and buckle up. Press on the gas and brake pedal with your foot, touch the radio, and lights/sirens switch. Unbuckle and go to the back of the unit, open the doors and pull out the gurney with gear bags already loaded onto it (the instructor will help you). Wheel the gurney up a curb and about 15 feet to the doorway of the fire tower. Carry the gear bags to the 4th floor of the tower (there is someone up there to make sure you stop at the right floor), set them down, pick up a 60 lb hose pack, carry it down the stairs, load it on the gurney, and wheel the gurney back into the unit, and load it up (the instructor will help you load it up). Then go back up to the 4th floor, pick up the gear bags, bring them down, open the side door of the unit, and place the bags on the floor. That's when the time ends. For that test, you have 5 minutes, 30 seconds to complete it. And yes, you can take more than one stairs at a time, and go as fast/slow as you want.
