Hi- Here is my Dillema -

I work 2pm - 10pm...(Fri thru Tue)

Is there ANY EMT basic schools I could go to in the morning? I have been searching on the internet and all the schools i have found have students attending all day classes or evening classes.

I have to work. But I REALLY want to get my EMT and eventually Paramedic classes....Does anyone out there know of any morning classes in the greater DFW area? Or - any online classes (i know you cant do it all online but maybe part of the course?) And if i do attend online classes for part of the course....is that a bad thing? Would prospective employer see that as a disadvantage?

One more question since I am asking... Is a new EMT graduate that is 36 years old a bad thing? I mean i know most graduates are just out of high school....Do I even have a chance of getting hired if Im pushing 40?

I would greatly appreciate any input or advice.

Thank you sooo much!!!!! ^_^

I don't know of any schools that do a morning only class.

Since you're in the DFW area you might look into TrainingDivision.com. They're located over in Crowley, if you're not sure where that is lemme know.

There are many varied opinions about online EMS. My personal feelings are that online can fill a nitch for those such as yourself who have no other options. T Div only does EMT level now, which I am personally ok with, but feel if you do go that route it would be best to get a job and get some OTJ before going to Medic school. I personally don't recommend Medic school be done online, but that's just me.

Many employers don't care where you went to school, all they want is to see the patch.

And, 36 as a new EMT isn't too old, IMHO.

None of the community Colleges offer a morning class? I know around here they had one from 0800-1100 MWF. That was the one I took 5 years ago
