I'm attempting to renew my WI paramedic license. On the WI DHS website, it states that passing the NREMT paramedic exam counts the same as taking a refresher. I took and passed said exam. So far, so good. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to document this. The only document the NREMT provides is their own recertification form. I emailed DHS. Their reply to my first email was, "You need some type of documentation that you have successfully passed the NREMT assessment exam." I replied asking if they could point me in the direction of finding this documentation. Their reply was, "You need some type of documentation that you were successful for recent by the exam."

Has anyone on this forum renewed their license through the NREMT exam? How did you document that you passed the exam?
 
There should be a letter from the NREMT that says you have successfully passed the cognitive exam. It's the letter that says you passed. Maybe email that to them?

I'm not seeing anything like that online. Is that something that is typically mailed?
 
Log into the NREMT. Go to "My Applications.". There should be a button listed as "My Results." Check there.
 
When I log in, under "My Current Role" it is initially set as "CBT Candidate." I've tried clicking on "My Applications" in that setting and there is nothing labeled "My Results." When I go to "Application Status / ATTs," a results option does come up, but all that contains is the information from my intial EMT and paramedic certification. When I switch "My Current Role" to "My Certification," there is nothing labeled "My Applications." If I go to "Recert by Exam," then "App Status / Results," I can see that I passed the test, but I don't see a letter.
 
Interesting... Call the NREMT tomorrow and see if they can find it for ya. I'm out of ideas.
 
I called the NREMT. They let me know that since I applied to take the exam through the "Recert By Exam" section of the website, they do not provide a document with any identifying information. Apparently I should have gone through the "CBT Candidate" section. They said to call the state and see if they will communicate directly with the NREMT. I don't have high hopes of that happening. I'm thinking that I might end up having to take the test again, which I wouldn't mind except that it's a day off work and another fee payment.
 
Bleh... Well one can hope that they will be willing. Guess the NREMT won't write a quick letter?
 
The NREMT sent me a document showing that I took the exam. It doesn't seem to show that I passed, though. I guess I'll try turning that in and see what happens.
