Before this thread gets locked...I want to say Sandpitmedic absolutely gets it (I dont know him personally, but basing this on his posts). I wish more prehospital providers would exercise common sense in the field. I personally like to put the cookbook away myself and use critical thinking skills. Our job is to stabilize and get the patient to definitive care/or alternative care (whether thats suggesting POV to an urgent care or PCP followup). People over think this job way too much and it leads to burnout. For the record ive been doing this almost 10 years in an urban setting
