My version of "terror" in EMS is pretty much just the oh s*** moments. Best part of the job. Could have used other words but oh well!

Thanks for the info. I am still thinking about how I will be able to get buy with a low pay. Maybe do a job on the side? Also, most calls aren't serious, correct? And, my dad doesn't want me to be a paramedic because he doesn't want me to get hurt, but I think he thinks it is way more dangerous than it is. Is it really that dangerous?

Your dad is right to be concerned, very, very dangerous. You'll probably blow your back out lifting fat people into the Medicare Cab. Which is the sad majority of EMS work.

I'm just adding my voice to those who've suggested you consider getting a degree somewhere in something. A degree is a hedge against EMS not working out for you long term. Injury, burn-out, economics, and lifestyle changes are all factors that can get in the way of whatever plans you're making. It helps to have a backup plan.
