I'm in the second week of my night classes (Tues and Thurs from 18:00-22:00 since I'm active military) and I've read the chapters assigned, taken notes, done my homework, gone the extra mile and purchased a workbook and done extra work in it etc. We had class canceled two times (which kinda jacked up our schedule and threw us all for a loop) and I'm CPR Certified now. We took our first test and I did alright (76%) most of the class failed so he gave about five extra points because in his words "The first test is the most difficult one, the questions take some getting used to because they're very literal." I'm kinda worried though because I still haven't mastered abbreviations, certain concepts (e.g how to compute alveolar ventilation) I haven't quite mastered, and I'm just plain out anxious the whole class feels very disorganized. (My teacher is kinda absent minded, for example forgetting BVM's when teaching Airway Management ) EMT-P is my dream job, EMS in general is what I want to do with my life. I learn by doing not by reading and memorizing. But I'm just plain out stressed my mind feels like its ready to shut down. I study every chance I get and still I feel like I'm not doing enough and I'm gonna fail (I'm a bit of an overachiever) Is it common to feel this way? Is there any advice other than just to sit back, relax, take a deep breath and just go with it? Any help is appreciated from you fine folks hopefully I get to join your ranks soon
