Hello everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. I 'm a noob, and wasn't sure where to post an introduction. I'm a thirty year old male living in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Made the huge decision to get into EMS after eight years with the Department of Corrections in California. So I will start the EMT-B program on Jan. 23rd and graduate on May 13th. Kinda nervous. Its been a while since I've been a student. So any advice or info would be of great help. I have decided to dedicate myself to this new profession and am looking forward to learning everything I can. Hopefully 30 yrs old isnt to late.....thanks!

Hello fellow Coloradoan and welcome!!!

LOL! Thanks! Where in CO are ya?

30 definitely isn't too late, there's a thread around here somewhere with the age that everyone started in EMS and there's a good chunk of people that started later in life than you are. For now just browse the forum and read through the BLS, ALS and Scenarios sections and you may not understand a lot of what you read but you will be exposed to the thought process, terms and how people talk about things so the light will go on quicker when you hear the things in school. Good luck with class and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Thanks a bunch Marine! I appreciate the advice!
