Hey guys :)

My wife and I are looking to relocate to Illinois once I graduate. I know my chances at Chicago FD are slim to nil, which is not a huge heartbreaker for me, but I wouldn't turn down a job there. However, I think we were looking for something more... suburban. She'll either be finishing a teaching degree or her RN (I'm totally rooting for the RN lol) and I'll have my EMT-P, looking to finish my RN.

My real question is do any of y'all have any thoughts or suggestions on specific agencies in outlying smaller cities, suburbs or towns that are about an hour or closer to Chicago? I think even an hour and a half wouldn't be too much. We want to be away from the city but still have it available for a good time. <_< guess that may be asking for a bit though lol :)

dont bother with the teaching gig, my fiancee's sister has a bs in education, focusing on k-5.
it is going to take her nearly 25 years to pay off her student loans at the rates they pay up there.
and she went to mostly community colleges.

Dang, good to know! I'll tell her to stick to RN. Personally, I think she'd be better off as an RN not only in pay but in the whole happy with her job thing. Thanks for the info!

another consideration: its damn dangerous in some of the schools around :censored::censored::censored::censored:cago.
