My General Manager knows that I am a computer geek. He's asked me to see if I could come up with a 1 or 2 hour ConEd class that was technology/computer related. I can easily talk all day about hundreds of computer topics but so far I haven't thought of anything that is really related to EMS. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas I'd love to hear them.

Search function works great as this has been discussed you may find what you need.

Search is in fact "great" and I did use it: "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. "

If you can suggest some threads that would be equally great.

Try again, people. The OP was talking about continuing education related to computers, not delivered via them.

While searching is nice, reading posts is nice too.

OP, has your service started using ePCRs? There's potential for an expanded lecture on HIPAA, treatment of medical data, and the way the system works. Aside from that, there's not much; classes on medical devices should be left to the people that make them, and EMS is a fairly low-technology field aside from them.

What about using computers to prepare EMS students for their certification exams. Computers can be excellent tools in helping solidify knowledge that is learned in the classroom. Computer study software helps to build confidence, while reducing stress, and allows students to concentrate on what they don't know rather than dwelling on information that they are confident in. It also allows you to cover a large amount of information in a rather small time frame, verses conventional forms of studying.

Perhaps this is not directly related to ConEd, but indirectly, all EMT's eventually have to recertify. Computer study software makes it less painful to study and creates a rather attractive alternative than having to thumb through a 1000 page textbook. I spent the last 14 years of my life creating such software for EMS.
