If anyone knows of any long distance flight CCTs, PLEASE PM me immediatly.

One of the people who I went to medic school with, and who means the world to me called me earlier, and informed me her father was involved in a bad car wreck, and he suffered severe injuries. The hospital he is at is not a great one, albiet a trauma center, and it is also in Colarado.

They are flying out to see him as I type, but they want to bring him home to Florida, to one of the excellent medical facilities there, as well as to have him closer to home.

If you know of any flight care teams (fixed wing) that would be able to coordinate a transfer from Colarado to Florida (Airports, transferring and receiving facilities TBA, as I find out) PLEASE let me know.

I don't know of any personally, but google "Air Ambulance" and you should find many. They usually take care of all of the arrangements from point to point. Whatever you do, do not use a traditional land-based ambulance service for a long distance transport.

Sorry, I should have been a tad clearer...

Who has worked with, or know of any reputable companies?

I did a search real quick, and found alot of places, but I would like to reccomend the best for her.

Thanks for the help so far!

What hospital is she going to? Florida Hospital has their own interfacility transport but I dont think they do pick ups, if its in Central Florida or Daytona beach Rural Metro DOES have non emergency transport, but very few trucks for that. Central Florida also has American Ambulance (So deperate they will do anything for money and transport all the frick over Florida ) to do your transport from airport to facility.

If you or your friend has a say in it, I recommend ORMC. It is the BEST Level I trauma center in Florida and one of the best in the country. Florida has only 3. If she goes to level 2 STAY AWAY from Halifax, its a **** hole. For a Level 2 trauma center I recommend Florida South on Rollins/Orange Ave. That is where my mom got taken care of when she had her accident, the staff is amazing and the hospital itself is beautiful and huge and such.

They just got approved to do heart transplants, too!!

The worldwide leader in medical evacuation. You name a need, they will service it. I can honestly say this is an organization that I would be proud to work with (and am considering it down the line!). They are quick and highly efficient. Not to mention some ubber hot european Flight Nurses!

Have worked with these folks for many years. They are the cream of the crop! I would (and have) trust any my closest loved ones in their care any day of the week and twice on Sunday. 2nd oldest air service in the country and one of the busiest. Well educated crews by a legend in emergency medicine and surgery, all of the best equipment, and a new fleet. You can call their dispatch line @ 713-704-3590 and they can get you more information and an itenerary with quote....................

Now before any calls are made, you should look into insurance requirements. Many insurances will cover this type of transport, but you need to ensure that you use a service that is covered. These transports cost in the range of $20,000 and up. You also need to ensure that all documentation is in order to avoid an insurance denial. Make sure all of the t's are crossed and little j's dotted!

Your friend and her family are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that her father hets the care that he needs and deserves.
