Literally...white sweat.

I have seen it. Leaves a white powder all over the person, when it dries.

Same here. I mostly see it in the Ironman Medical Tent, after the athlete has stopped exerting him/herself. Like reaper said, it leaves a white powder all over the person.

Who knows what causes this? I'd like to know, keep forgetting to google it lol.

I believe it is excess sodium being sweated out of the body?

Ah, that makes sense. Man, I dunno why these Ironman people do it.. after working in the med tent for a few years, I don't think I'd ever do Ironman. Not that I was going to previous to that either.

Side story: had this one couple come into the med tent almost dead. Got married Friday, had serious food poisoning all day Saturday, then did the Ironman on Sunday. lol Well needless to say, their marriage almost didn't last all that long.

Iron Man? Seen EcoRun or whatever it's called? Here's their medical support.

Fly in ointment: Dr Cohen was found guilty of forging scrips for medical cocaine, fined, but not jailed and license intact.

I saw white sweat twice on troops during exercises in hot weather with adequate hydration, not in chem suits (those got crusted with white commonly), but undergoing "heroic activity" as it was termed (i.e., short term not sustainable activity). Neither had long lasting effects and went back to normal sweat.

Definitely sounds like sodium being sweated out. I went backpacking in New Mexico for 2 weeks a few years back, and I ended up with white salt deposits on my clothing from the sweat. My diet at the time was high in salt (as is recommended in that environment) so I'm sure I had an excess.

Could this be similar to a Uremic frost kind of situation maybe, like a sodium overload on the kidneys? just a thought was wondering others' thoughts

You sure that ain't anthrax?

Sounds cool... but freaky.
So no, not me.

Back in my long-distance days...

I used to run very long-distance, strenuous runs, sometimes when it was pretty hot. I'd actually "white sweat" myself, if you want to call it that. Left a very salty crust over my forehead.

Yeah had the white boots myself in USAF.

Not uremic frost, but white sweat, still liquid, dripping off chin and brow and neck. Otherwise, fine.

Well, it looked white, but that may have been the high concentrations or the sunblock. I don't know! Interesting to consider.
