How long is your commute to work?

3 hours one way for a 72/96 hr shifts. Now it's more like 10 minutes.
 
Full time - Hospital - 25min.
Vol - EMS - 25-40 mins depending on which station.
 
24 hour shift on a Fri or Sat - San Marcos to San Antonio = 45-60 mins. About 1.5 hours if coming from Austin. Early enough to avoid traffic issues.
12 hour ED shifts, from home over summer - 20 minutes Mon-Fri both ways, 25 if I get some nasty red lights, 15 mins on weekends. This will turn to 45 once school starts back up, though only PRN.
 
10 minutes to my usual station. Though with all the mandates, it could be anywhere between 8 minutes and 1.5 hours to another station.

Where in SA are you working? (Sounds like you only live about 20min from me).

I no longer work there. Was at some small, embarrassing IFT on the east side off 410. Home is with family on 620 in Austin, and during the year I live on campus at Texas State for AT.
 
I've got a pretty decent guess at who that is. Well during the school year you're about 20min from me. I'm on the very south end of NB.
 
72 miles about an hr and a half. I do 3 12s. So I put in about 450 miles a week. Luckily my car gets high 30s in the MPG.
 
If i catch the light, 4 minutes. if not, 2-3. The department is physically adjacent to the hopsital
 
I work full time, 48 hour shift, and I drive about an hour to get to work in the morning.

Looking at moving in the near future, right now my commute is 5 minutes to one station, 15 to the other. Soon it may very well be 220mi one way, once a week on 96s and 72s. So 440 miles a week, which seems way more doable reading about your 3 12s...
Or maybe I'm just insane and going to progressively lose my mind somewhere between I15 and 395... Either way.

You're not thinking San Diego County are you? Also, starting Wednesday my commute to work will be about 10-15 minutes.
 
Depends on what station I've picked up at. The NE side stations are as close as 20 minutes, the stations on the west & far south sides can take over an hour if traffic sucks. That's why I like to stick to the NE side trucks. :) I'm only part-time though, so I can pick/choose my hours, schedules & trucks. Standard shifts are either 12 or 24 hours.

I'm thinking of moving to San Diego, and continuing to work up here. I can't bring myself to part with Kern county...

Being I recently relocated from San Diego, I'd highly advise against it. But that's just me.
