How long is too long?

I interviewed yesterday morning and it went really well. They told me if my references all checked out, they'd would call me back with a time and day for my physical. (Slight chance they might not) Then I would have my orientation/ride-a-long and receive my protocols.

I'm very excited about it, actually. He said I would hear fairly quickly and gave me the woman's name. My interview was yesterday at 10, so I was wondering if I hadn't heard anything by Monday or Tuesday, should I call and ask, or let it go and accept any other interviews?

I know my references should all check out, they were correct, so how long is too long to wait? Any other jobs have gotten back to me on the same day, or the morning after. I understand that he is also a little busier, as well, but he didn't commit to it 100% though.

I say give 'em a call Wednesday if they haven't called you by then.

I would go in after a week. I find that calling people is usually hit or miss. they may be busy, not get a message etc...Going in shows your interested.

When I got employed I put in a application, went back 2 days later just to touch base (I brought some more info to make it look legit) she scheduled me for a physical/agility and drug screen. She told me she would call me the next day, after I called 2 days later and left messages I decided to go in again (again I brought some stuff to attach to my application just as an excuse) she set me up with a interview and assesment. Often HR is swamped and your just a name on a piece of paper easily overlooked and forgotten. When they say theyll call you usually theyve told 100 other applicants the same thing. Going in once a week gets your face known and its harder for them to blow you off (sorry I didnt get the message...weve been so busy, I just forgot to call you, unfortunatly weve filled all the positions) Any job I apply for I always go in physically and get to know the HR person and if possible management, you got to give them the ol razzle dazzle.

In this instance everything goes through one guy. He's not really HR. It's county. That's why I figured he was probably SUPER busy and don't want to bother him. On the other hand, very eager and excited to start. Been trying to study and keep on top of it, but I don't want to forget everything.

Thanks for the advice guys. :D I guess I will go in around Wednesday of next week, just to check up, take some stuff to add for my application just to turn in. I changed my license, so I wanted to inform them anyway, we have to have a for hire endorsement.
