How do you define standard of care?

How do you define standard of care? Is it based on what you know now? Your agency protocols? National standards? Who decides that the standard of care is?

And there in lies the problem. Q Standard of care should not be subjective across the nation. A Medic from area A should be held to the same standard as a medic in area B and Visa Versa. That should also go with the same accountability with a inner city medic with a ER within 10 minutes in any direction and a practioner outside the urban arena. When a person calls for Paramedics what they get should be standard anywhere in the nation.

But at a minimum they should be held accountable to the nationally instructed curriculum
