How are Barbara Aehlert's EMT textbooks?

The textbook is required for my upcoming EMT class, but the workbook is optional and it's $63, and I don't know much about it. Navigate Testprep and FISDAP are the two other things I was looking at as recommendations from another thread, and both are cheaper and seem like better options to study from and ace the NREMT test. Could someone who has used it give me an overview of the Aehlert workbook?

I thought the Aehlert book was worst of the EMT-Basic books I read. I wouldn't buy the workbook unless your school requires it. I didn't use my workbook much when going through school.

Also, if you do decide to buy the workbook, you may want to consider buying a used one in good shape. I'd had great experiences buying used books on Amazon.

Good luck!

damn, why do schools still use it if it's so bad? Is it just filled with misinformation or what? I'll likely avoid it but what would you recommend otherwise?

my school is making us buy that too. We are required to have the workbook as well.

All together, in a bundle deal, like $220.

Thankfully I have army money for college and books and stuff so it wasn't a huge hit.

I never opened the work book

I didn't think it was bad, I just thought it was worst of the books I had (Brady, Mosby, and Aehlert).

I think you'll find they all have pretty much the same information, it's just they present it differently.

Work hard, study, and enjoy the program!
