I'm Cyndye, new to the forum - as you can see. I work as a paramedic in rural East Texas (almost 10 years now). I also teach EMT/EMT-I/EMT-P classes at a local college and for our hospital education dept. Glad to be here!

Chimpie sees another Princess on the board. He pulls up a chair, grabs some popcorn, and prepares for the show.

Just kidding. Welcome to EMTLife!

Cyndye, pull up a chair and join in.

Got a question for ya though? What would it take to get a Texas Paramedic Cert? I was born in Texas and was thinking of moving back to El Paso for a year to learn about where I was born. I was 6 months old when we left.

Texas is an NREMT state now, so you shouldn't have a problem. Just pay the state some $$$ and you should be fine. Texas is very good about working w/ people from other states (w/ reciprosity) - but since you are already NREMT certified, I think you just pay for the state cert.

Also, thanks to everyone for the warm welcome!!

Got mine at work as well. The day my son marched up to a CPT and Chief and informed them his mommy is a princess and they better talk to her like one.:blush:

I have looked at moving to the Bell County TX area in the next couple years, to get that boy of mine closer to his father during the time he will need him the most. Don't know though, I kind of like "playing tag" with tropical storm systems.
