Hello everyone!!

Just have some basic questions for now I suppose.

I am going to college for Fire and Rescue, which includes EMT.
I asked my EMT instructor if I could go ahead and do my EMT class so I can do that as a part-time job while attending college he said yeah.

So any tips or advice? Also any general information on this?
I'm pretty sure I'm just doing EMT Basic.

I'm 19 almost 20, I intend to be a police officer or firefighter later in life but figured I could do EMT for the next 3-4 years while in college.

The class is about 3-4 months, I am not sure if I get certified in class or I have to go somewhere anyone know?

By the way I am located in Lexington, Ky

Thanks for the info in advance!!

Welcome to the Life.

Tips, study hard, ask questions, and remember EMT-B is mostly common sense with the information provided in class. Also as a newbie EMT, resist the whackerdom, (search whackers and tips for new EMTs uisng the search feature provided above) as you are located in the Mecca of Whackers, the city of the HQ of Galls.

Good luck

First off, Welcome to EMTlife!

As for tips: Remember that there is more to it then just going to class and passing a few tests. You need to commit to it and learn learn learn. The learning and making ones self better never ends in this profession. As long as you are willing to put the time and effort into it...everything will turn out good :D

Take Care and good luck during school,
