I am a newly certified Emt from California,but i intend to move to Georgia next month where i will apply for The State Licence.Does any one know how long it takes to get the Licence in Georgia?
Required documentation for Out-of-State EMS Program graduates seeking initial licensure for any level includes:
Completed reciprocity application, Form C-08B: Out-of-State Application for Licensure;
Current national criminal record history report generated no earlier than twelve (12) months prior to submitting an application for licensure;
Passport-style photo;
Documentation attesting to the successful completion of an approved EMT-B, EMT-I, or EMT-P course;
Copy of appropriate level and current NREMT level wallet card;
Documentation attesting to current CPR certification, as well as ACLS certification for paramedics, as listed in PRO-C-04;
Acceptable documents attesting to appropriate age (list in document)
Cashier’s check, money order, or company check, in the amount of $25.00 for EMT-B, $50.00 for EMT-I, or $75.00 for EMT-P, drawn on a United States bank, made payable to the “Georgia Department of Human Resources.” Personal checks will not be accepted.
I'm not sure how long it takes for reciprocity, but it only took a week or two for both my EMT and paramedic license in GA. I would guess that reciprocity would take a little longer though. Maybe expect a couple weeks to a month? Call the state office and ask.
