All you have wrote is sounds and looks like at our country( exams and some schoolseting learning) First class interesting informations.Thanks.ALS is advanced life support, that means that the person has gone to school for more advanced training and theory. Part of these classes include but not limited to anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and advanced airway management. These folks also must have a set amount of hours in the classroom setting, clinical hours in the acute hospital setting and in the field for their internship. Besides these folks taking their classrooms exams and final exams to pass the program they also must pass a state or national exam in order to get their license to practice as a paramedic. Hope this helps!
Anna... Is it mandatory for EMT-P in states to have a bachelor degree?
First and foremost, it is BLS that gives the foundation of ALS training. Ask any paramedic, registered nurse, or physician. It is good BLS skills that can help the patient to survive until ALS can be started. Lets all remember that it is good foundation that leads us to the right direction.
A bachelor's degree is not mandatory for EMT-P in the states.
And I'm not sure I would equate paramedic with "physician level", Bongy. There is a huge difference.
