Hi guys,
I've got a question? Maybe a few actually...
I'm a South African qualified medic, registered and current with our own health professions council. (EMT-I EQUIVALENT).
I'm on the verge of furthering my studies onto a US DOT Paramedic programme and the eventually down the line sit the EMT-B and the ultimate NREMT-P exams.
Now, I am merely doing this because like so many others, I am an international contractor, and I need to obtain a higher form of qualification, before I continue with my possible degree studies later on.
Now, most contracting positions, when they advertise jobs/positions, it will always be in the form of '' ALS PARAMEDIC", and then they will define it further into NREMT-P, South African CCA or N-dip, or Australian or NZ blah blah etc etc. My question is, IF I do pass a NREMT-P exam in the future, as a foreigner, would I be able to REGISTER on the actual NREMT-P board, seeing this is what international contractors are looking for?
Or is it a 50/50 and depends on other factors as well?
Any help and insight would be appreciated.
Cheers
