I'm down here in Texas, been with a fire department for 5 years, primarily as in-charge Paramedic.
I'm currently in nursing school and strongly considering taking a full time position at a Level 3 ER. They do have part time available, but would be too much between school, family and fire dept.
For those who have worked, still working, part time or full time... What are your honest opinions on working in an ER? Having known only 911 and the truck, would it be a terrible transition? Or does it come down to what I want out of it. Here's my mind frame, and see if you guys think it'll be good move-->
Have two kids
Work a 9 day rotation (24 on, 24 off, 5 days off) currently
School full time
Thanks a lot for any input.
