apparently a mutal variant of smallpox has been found in Brazilian cows. now nobody would normally give it a 2nd thought, except for it's startling resemblance to a disease the WHO said the world was rid of.
iirc, the last proven case was in 1977. Innoculants were curtailed about the same time, stockpiles were also agreed (internationally) destroyed.... which means anyone born after that (1980?) is susceptable
if the strain assumes cross speicies status (like the bird flu for those of you whom may be following along) it'll be of concern here
